About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Research in-the-wild exploits for all types of vulnerabilities
  • Implement tracking systems supporting cross-team adversary tracking based on observed exploitation behavior
  • Improve and maintain exploit, malicious payload, and attack-vector detection capabilities
  • Identify new data sources to increase exploit threat visibility
  • Reverse engineer relevant exploits and maintain detailed understanding of their inner functioning
  • Develop automation tools extending static and dynamic analysis frameworks
  • Create a classification framework supporting attribution of intrusion activity
  • Contribute technical expertise to active mitigation efforts
  • Develop host-based and network-based signatures for large-scale hunting, detection, and prevention
  • Produce threat intelligence reports with actionable mitigation and detection guidance
  • Brief complex technical analysis results to varied audiences
  • Collaborate across teams on activity, adversary and campaign tracking, and exploit mitigation strategies and products
  • Conduct customer briefings via phone, video conference, webcast, in-person briefing, or industry conference

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proficiency in exploitation techniques commonly seen in userspace and kernel-level vulnerability exploits
  • Knowledge of common network service exploitation techniques
  • Solid understanding of at least two operating system platforms, including Microsoft Windows
  • Familiarity with standard web-based exploitation vectors
  • Profound knowledge of reverse engineering tools, including disassemblers, decompilers, and debuggers
  • Experience with malware unpacking and reconstructing code logic
  • Knowledge of programming and scripting languages, particularly Python
  • Ability to effectively leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI-assisted tools while independently validating findings
  • Proven experience using AI technologies to enhance decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes
  • Ability to express complex technical and non-technical concepts in verbal and graphical products
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Collaborative mindset and strong team-player abilities
  • MA/MS or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field
  • Experience in attribution and intelligence analysis is preferred
  • Background in intelligence writing is preferred
  • Experience writing Snort and YARA signatures is preferred
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
