About the role
- Provide strategic leadership for a team of data engineers, focusing on hands-off management that empowers team autonomy while ensuring alignment with organizational goals
- Drive cost optimization initiatives across data infrastructure, identifying opportunities for efficiency while maintaining high performance standards
- Oversee the design and implementation of scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and analytics solutions that support CrowdStrike's critical business functions
- Manage resource allocation, budgeting, and cost forecasting for data engineering projects and infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to align data strategy with business objectives and cost management priorities
- Develop and implement KPIs and metrics to measure team performance, data infrastructure efficiency, and cost optimization success
- Mentor and grow engineering talent, focusing on career development and building a high-performing, innovative team culture
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics roles with at least 3+ years in management positions
- Strong understanding of data pipeline architectures, cloud infrastructure, and cost optimization strategies
- Experience managing budgets and optimizing costs in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI)
- Background in data technologies including Apache Airflow, Airbyte, Apache Superset, DBT, and SQL
- Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into business value and ROI
- Experience leading and developing high-performing engineering teams with a hands-off management approach
