About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and maintain high-level relationships with policymakers, C-suite government officials, agency procurement leaders, and key stakeholders within DoD/Civilian agencies to position our services as the trusted choice.
  • Drive net-new revenue by identifying and qualifying cybersecurity opportunities (incident response, proactive assessments) through strategic partnerships, policy influencing, and networking.
  • Monitor and interpret emerging federal and state legislative/regulatory developments (e.g., CMMC, NIST, state privacy laws) to shape our public sector go-to-market strategy and assist agencies in understanding their security compliance needs.
  • Develop initiatives that drive proactive services (e.g., threat hunting, tabletop exercises) to prevent incidents, while simultaneously acting as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders during reactive, emergency situations.
  • Collaborate with technical SMEs and sales teams to align our capabilities with customer requirements, developing proposals, white papers, and business cases for competitive bids.
  • Represent the company at trade associations, advisory boards, and policy forums to enhance brand visibility and thought leadership in the public sector.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years in federal/state business development, government affairs, or policy roles, with at least 5 years focused on cybersecurity, specifically in incident response or critical infrastructure protection.
  • An active, established network within the Defense Industrial Base (DIB), Federal civilian agencies, and/or state/local government.
  • Deep understanding of government procurement processes (RFQs, RFPs, GSA schedules) and regulatory landscapes (NIST, DFARS).
  • Exceptional, persuasive communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical vulnerabilities and incident response procedures to non-technical policy audiences.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and lead cross-functional teams to close complex deals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Cybersecurity, Public Policy, or related field is preferred
