About the role

  • Focus area: OpenSearch and ElasticSearch
  • Maintain deep understanding of data components including Cassandra, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, Kafka, Zookeeper, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Valkey, Memcache, Pulsar, SQS and operate and automate clusters
  • Operate databases in Kubernetes and manage container images
  • Develop infrastructure services to support a full devops model
  • Troubleshoot time-sensitive production issues with Engineering and Customer Support
  • Keep petabytes of critical business data safe, secure, and available
  • Work on large-scale distributed systems processing trillions of events per day

Requirements

  • Configuration management (Chef)
  • Scripting in Python and bash
  • Experience with large scale datastores: Cassandra, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, Kafka, Zookeeper, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Valkey, Memcache, Pulsar, SQS
  • Experience with large-scale, business-critical Linux environments
  • Experience operating within the cloud, preferably AWS, GCP and OCI
  • Understanding of operating databases in Kubernetes and managing container images
  • Proven ability to work effectively with both local and remote teams
  • Track record of making great decisions under pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Combination of confidence and independence with prudence to ask for help
  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, CIS or Engineering
