About the role
- Falcon For IT: cloud-based product helping IT & Security teams query endpoints using Charlotte AI and working with the Sensor driver
- Part of the cloud engineering team responsible for the heart of the Falcon For IT module
- Lead backend engineering efforts from rapid prototypes to large-scale applications across CrowdStrike products
- Leverage and build cloud-based systems in a micro-service driven environment
- Brainstorm, define, and build collaboratively with members across multiple teams (UI, Sensor, etc.)
- Mentor and be mentored on web, backend and data storage technologies and the system
- Constantly re-evaluate product to improve architecture, knowledge models, user experience, performance and stability
- Be an energetic self-starter with ownership and accountability for deliverables
- Use and give back to the open-source community
- Role is remote-first and fully remote
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science (or commensurate experience in data structures/algorithms/distributed systems)
- Ability to scale backend systems – sharding, partitioning, scaling horizontally
- Desire to ship code and love of seeing work run in production
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and scalability challenges
- Deep understanding of multi-threading, concurrency, and parallel processing technologies
- Team player with strong collaboration skills
- Thorough understanding of engineering best practices, testing paradigms, peer code reviews, and resilient architecture
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, test-driven, collaborative and iterative programming environment
- Skills to meet commitments on time and produce high quality, unit-tested code integrated in CI
- Experience with Go (Golang), AWS, Kafka, GIT, ElasticSearch, Redis, Python
- Bonus: authored or led open-source projects, contributions to OSS (GitHub, Stack Overflow, blogging)
- Bonus: exposure to Scala, Cassandra, prior experience in cybersecurity or intelligence fields
