About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide quality customer service by obtaining documentation needed to underwrite loans
  • Order third-party documentation by communicating with customers and Loan Officers
  • Provide required disclosures under applicable local, state, and federal regulations
  • Review and analyze borrowers’ credit, employment, income, and assets before underwriting submission
  • Assemble complete loan packages for underwriting
  • Verify required documentation and complete loan checklists
  • Review applications for completeness and accuracy and identify potential underwriting issues
  • Prepare loan approval summaries, Forms 1008 and 1003, and verify document accuracy
  • Communicate with Loan Originators, customers, and Underwriters to obtain required documentation
  • Review loans for compliance with mortgage regulations and prepare disclosures
  • Obtain property surveys, flood certificates, title commitments, and payoff information
  • Verify vendor orders, invoices, and applicant E-file documentation
  • Manage the pipeline and submit reports within allotted turnaround times
  • Assist with loan setup
  • Document loan-related communications in the conversation log
  • Train and assist with supervision of new Loan Processors and other processing personnel
  • Assist closing, secondary marketing, and loan servicing in clearing investor suspense items
  • Work varying hours and overtime when needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years’ residential mortgage processing experience
  • Experience with Encompass
  • Working knowledge of RESPA regulations
  • General knowledge of mortgage and consumer lending regulations, including Regulation Z and Regulation B
  • Knowledge of DU, LP, Microsoft Office, and Windows
  • Excellent math and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent prioritization and time management skills
  • Availability to work varying hours and overtime if needed
