About the role
- Lead a cross-functional AI product engineering team, owning strategy and execution across multiple Copilot experiences
- Drive technical direction and product evolution for the AI stack, inference backend, user-facing AI products
- Interface closely with the AI Research and Model Training team to align on model capabilities, evaluation methodology, data/training pipelines, and the productionization path for new models and techniques
- Oversee infrastructure, on-call rotations, and operational processes.
- Operate in a player-coach model, contributing 50% of your time to hands-on engineering:
- Writing evals
- Testing and debugging features
- Occasionally contributing to inference stack development
- This position will require stand-by, on-call, or off-hours duties
Requirements
- 4–7 years of Engineering Management experience
- Recent (within 5 years) hands-on engineering experience in: TypeScript / JavaScript, Python or Go
- Background in B2B SaaS product development
- Demonstrated interest in AI/ML
- Can articulate informed opinions about current AI trends
- Experience working directly with AI products
- Strong communication skills and leadership presence in a distributed team
