💰 $90,000 - $125,000 per year
About the role
- Manage all aspects of an audit including compiling financial statement (ACFR) reports, single audit reports, and compliance reporting (USFR)
- Manage client relationships and serve as primary contact, including preparing and presenting presentations to clients and potential clients
- Develop and mentor team members; provide training, instruction, engagement scheduling, and budgeting
- Perform audits in accordance with Government Auditing Standards and Uniform Guidance (single audits)
- Review and prepare governmental conversion entries and resolve complex accounting issues
- Support business development, marketing efforts, and be responsible for engagement profitability
- Collaborate with team to exceed client expectations and deliver transformational professional services
Requirements
- Must reside in Arizona (no exceptions)
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent required
- Master’s degree in accounting or equivalent highly desirable
- Licensed CPA (required)
- 10+ years prior work experience in governmental auditing (preferred)
- Experience in auditing Arizona school districts highly desirable
- Knowledgeable in Arizona school district compliance (preferred)
- Knowledge in municipalities (cities or townships) preferred
- Sound GAAP and GAAS knowledge
- Knowledge of Government Auditing Standards
- Experience with performing audits in accordance with Uniform Guidance (single audits)
- Experience reviewing and preparing governmental conversion entries
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with ProFx Engagement, CCH ProSystems, Tyler Technologies software, Suralink (all a plus)
- Proven solid verbal and written communication skills
- People development and delegation skills including training/instruction and engagement scheduling and budgeting
- Executive presence and client development/relationship-building skills
- Ability to resolve complex accounting issues and support business development and engagement profitability
