Gain hands-on experience in tax preparation, accounting, and bookkeeping while supporting the tax team
Assist in preparing individual and business tax returns by gathering financial data, organizing documents, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations
Learn bookkeeping basics including data entry, reconciliations, and financial data integration into tax preparation
Communicate with clients to collect necessary tax documents, clarify financial information, and provide updates on tax preparation progress
Organize and maintain tax records to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and tax regulations
Participate in training sessions, shadow tax professionals, and apply accounting and tax knowledge to real-world scenarios to develop practical skills
Work up to 20 hours/week in a part-time hourly internship (January–May term)
Requirements
Currently enrolled in college at Junior or Senior level
No experience required; some bookkeeping or tax preparation experience preferred
Attention to Detail
Basic accounting knowledge, bookkeeping, and financial statements
Willingness to learn basic tax concepts and compliance requirements
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of confidentiality and ethics handling sensitive financial information
Adaptability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
Time management and ability to prioritize tasks during peak tax seasons
Familiarity with accounting software, spreadsheets, and data entry tools (or willingness to learn)
