About the role
- Support the Construction Manager and project team in executing all phases of high-voltage substation projects.
- Work under mentorship of a Construction Manager on an active project site to gain hands-on experience.
- Manage subcontractors, maintain project documentation including Daily Observation Reports, 3WLA tracking, and redlines.
- Verify material compliance with project standards and approved submittals.
- Conduct quality and safety inspections with growing independence.
- Use prescribed systems for reporting, communication, and task tracking.
- Support coordination of subcontractor activities to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, and safety standards.
- Assist with material tracking, delivery validation, and inventory documentation.
- Document and participate in daily project meetings, subcontractor coordination sessions, and site audits.
- Develop skills to lead field execution and subcontractor performance discussions with mentor support.
Requirements
- A Degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related construction discipline is required.
- Experience in construction or field engineering is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and PDF Editor.
- Able to lift 50 pounds.
- Use of company vehicle; successful Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) is required.
- Willingness to travel company-paid travel roughly 100% of the time and work in the field 100% of the time.
- Ability to perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
- Communicate regularly with supervisors about construction issues.
