About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Examine damaged vehicles and efficiently plan the repair process
  • Work and communicate with others on vehicle repair status
  • Perform quality repairs while keeping on-time status in mind
  • Decide whether to repair or replace parts based on safety, cost, and cycle time
  • Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window operating equipment, and trim to access vehicles and fenders
  • Participate in all required safety meetings
  • File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces using power tools and hand tools
  • Direct the work of an apprentice when needed, explaining procedures and addressing unusual problems or questions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Ability to use frame machine
  • Certification in body repair preferred
  • Knowledge of vehicle repair process by manufacturer
  • I-CAR welding certified
  • Skill in analyzing and interpreting measuring data
  • Ability to supervise repair personnel
  • Must be able to pass thorough background check
