About the role
- Develop and implement comprehensive test plans, test cases, and testing strategies to ensure software quality for web, mobile, and API applications.
- Develop, provide oversight and manage the software QA process.
- Set the standard for solid QA practices within the organization.
- Perform both manual and automated testing, ensuring full coverage for functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance tests.
- Track and report defects, ensuring they are resolved in a timely manner and follow up on open issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, product managers, and business people) to align on product requirements, quality goals, and timelines.
- Mentor and guide team members, contributing to their growth and enhancing their technical knowledge of QA best practices.
- Continuously assess and refine QA processes, including the introduction and improvement of automation frameworks.
- Analyze risks related to quality and propose solutions to mitigate these risks.
- Track and report key quality metrics, using data to drive quality improvements across the software development lifecycle.
- Ensure all testing activities are properly documented and compliant with internal standards and industry best practices.
- Lead and contribute to the adoption of Scrum practices, promoting collaboration and communication across the team.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in QA, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Demonstrated success building the software QA practice within an organization.
- Strong experience with both manual and automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, Postman).
- MySQL experience.
- Familiarity with waterfall and Agile methodologies, specifically Scrum.
- Solid understanding of SQL for data verification and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Azure Dev Ops and Smartsheets
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
- Ability to think critically and resolve problems proactively.
- Knowledge of defect tracking tools.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for quality.
