About the role
- Assist in the preparation of the company’s monthly, quarterly, and yearly consolidated financial statements and financial reporting packages.
- Perform detailed financial statement tie-outs, ensuring accuracy across the balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, and supporting schedules.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify potential technical accounting issues from new guidance or changes to the business, including staying current on new U.S. GAAP pronouncements and reporting developments.
- Research and draft technical accounting memos to provide guidance to internal teams for complex transactions, such as leases, business combinations, and debt.
- Assist in the development of internal control processes and requirements associated with financial reporting, and other technical areas.
- Maintain reconciliations for complex accounting areas such as debt, contingent consideration, and equity.
- Drive continuous improvement in the financial reporting process, focusing on speed, accuracy, and automation.
- Implement best practices, standardize reporting templates, and identify opportunities to enhance system capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college or university required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience.
- CPA with a strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP with the ability to research, interpret, and document conclusions on complex accounting matters.
- High technical aptitude with experience working in and optimizing accounting and financial reporting systems.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, demonstrating sound judgment and accountability in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare executive-level materials.
