• Develop HR department goals that align with CPC’s strategic objectives.
• Plan, develop, and lead company-wide programs and initiatives to enhance CPC’s culture, mission, vision, and values.
• Partner with the Leadership Committee on organizational strategy related to staffing, retention, and employee engagement.
• Help identify talent within and outside the organization and oversee recruitment efforts (e.g., job posting, scheduling of interviews, background and reference checking, etc.).
• Oversee initial orientation and onboarding of all new employees to ensure positive and consistent new-hire experience.
• Coach, counsel and advise supervisors and senior leadership on HR-related topics and concerns.
• Facilitate and/or coordinate HR-related training as needed (e.g., leadership development, interviewing, hiring, performance reviews, supervisory skills, conflict resolution, etc.).
• Design, implement and maintain necessary HR processes, policies and programs that support organizational effectiveness.
• Review and update employee handbook on an annual basis and/or as needed.
• Implement and maintain a human resource information system (HRIS) to support personnel data management and reporting needs.
• Manage the performance review process to ensure consistency and accountability.
• Regularly analyze salary data to develop competitive compensation plans that are legally defensible and ensure pay equity.
• Coordinate benefits administration including annual renewal negotiations, benefits package design, and enrollment with appropriate carriers.
• Manage extended leaves, FMLA, ADA compliance, Employee Assistance Program, unemployment claims and worker’s compensation matters.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
• Proactively assess employee morale and engagement and develop strategies to address concerns.
• Advise management on employment-related decisions and issues.
• Manage employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and response to employee complaints.
• Oversee employment separations (e.g. offboarding, exit interviews).
• Ensure accurate maintenance and confidentiality of personnel files and HR records.
• Lead, coach, and manage HR department staff and oversee departmental performance.
• Manage the HR department budget and financial resources.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
• Participate in committees and special projects as needed.
• Maintain professional knowledge by staying current on latest trends and compliance requirements, seeking out educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.

Human Resources Director

Business Development Rep

• Lead strategy for CPC business development with direction from the Executive Director and organizational leadership
• Oversee CPC business development activities.
• Serve as a primary contact and driver of new proposals and bids.
• Assess the needs of potential customers and develop proposed solutions with the applicable CPC leadership.
• Present CPC capabilities to potential partners & funders.
• Partner interactions will span the full project life cycle including relationship initiation, proposal preparation and presentation, transition from proposal to contracting, project kickoff and transition to internal teams, project status updates to the partner and change management, and project closure.
• Provide a project plan and tasks along with timelines for each proposal and manage the respective CPC groups accountable for content to deliver proposals on time.
• Manage the proposal composition working with the ED, Chief Science Officer, and Heads of Operations as well as other subject matter experts on content and format.
• Develop and maintain positive business relationships with current and new customers; establish regular communication with current clients to provide ongoing updates on project spend, anticipated changes, etc.
• Create the project budget first draft by using the provided tools and entering the assumptions and tailoring for the project; review the assumptions with the CPC content experts and overall budget with the Chief Financial Officer for final approval before submission.
• Plan and coordinate all capabilities, bid defense, business development, and partnership meetings including onsite and remote. This includes agenda creation, content assembly, and coordination with the CPC meeting planning team.
• Work with the Contracts team on contract negotiations (including change orders and amendments), as necessary; ensure the scopes of work accurately align with the approved budgets
• Serve as primary point of contact for the internal CPC teams to address questions about contracted scope, budget amendments, budgeted task inclusions, change orders, amendments, etc.
• Work with Legal to organize materials in the correct drives, data entry in CPC’s CRM and associated systems.
• Lead process improvement for business development and creation/maintenance of standardized pitch decks and materials including interval updates.
• Manage public relations press releases, social media related to notable CPC activities and website content.
• Monitor the CPC email account for new opportunities.
• Monitor external news and opportunities and bring them to the CPC team for consideration of bid activities.
• Understand and comply with all relevant CPC Policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines.
• Establish and execute strategic business objectives and goals for CPC in conjunction with applicable CPC leadership (e.g., the Leadership Committee).
• Assist with and/or submit grant submissions.
• Facilitate meetings with external partners at CPC with support of other internal teams.
• Perform other duties as deemed necessary.

Associate Director, Business Development

Accounts Payable

• Generate purchase orders for all new vendor contracts.
• Manage the full AP cycle: invoice review, coding, payment processing (checks, ACH, wires) and data entry accuracy.
• Ensure that payments are processed, tracked and recorded in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.
• Schedule disbursements.
• Monitor accounts and ensure that any discrepancies are identified and resolved.
• Reconcile monthly general ledger accounts related to payables.
• Prepare monthly and annual reports.
• Prepare AP reports and data analysis.
• Leads the month-end closing process.
• Participate in the preparation of annual audit support documentation.
• Evaluate and approve account investigations and authorize stop-payments.
• Implement and monitor internal accounting controls.
• Ensure invoice data entry to ERP accounts payable module.
• Maintain vendor invoice files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with Controller on departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural changes to increase efficiencies and control costs.

• Proactively identify opportunities for increased efficiency of current workflows and implement improvement solutions.
• Manage annual 1099 reconciliation and submission process.
• Collect vendor data, such as W9 forms and banking details, and enter in ERP for all vendors.
