Medical Dosimetrist – Radiation Therapy

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsibility/accountability for radiation therapy dosimetry
- Accurately interpreting Radiation Oncologist’s prescription
- Calculating and planning radiation treatments by use of treatment planning computer or hand calculations
- Providing support and care for patients by use of competent technical skills, problem-solving, and in cooperation with other health care team members
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of a medical dosimetry education program or on-the-job training with successful completion of the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board
- Preferred: Graduate of an ARRT approved School of Radiation Therapy
- Preferred: 2 years dosimetry experience
- Competent in radiation therapy dosimetry and all associated tasks necessary to accomplish the accurate set-up, planning and delivery of ionizing radiation therapy for optimum delivery of radiation therapy
- Good documentation practices
- Strong initiative with work assignments
- Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills
- Exhibits valuable time management skills
- Required: Certified by Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board, C.M.D. within 12 months of hire
- Preferred: A.R.R.T.- R.T.(T)
