About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintains, troubleshoots, optimizes, and supports broadcast, studio, RF transmission, automation, audio processing and routing, remote control, generator, UPS, satellite, and digital distribution systems to ensure reliable day-to-day operations
- Supports IP-based broadcast infrastructure, including switching, routing, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, wireless systems, AoIP platforms, and monitoring tools
- Responds quickly to outages, equipment failures, off-air events, and other critical technical issues across studios, transmitter sites, translator locations, and remote broadcasts, including after-hours and on-call support as needed
- Plans and executes upgrades, preventative maintenance, lifecycle replacements, infrastructure improvements, and modernization projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience in broadcast engineering, radio technical operations, media technology, IT infrastructure, or a related technical field
- Strong knowledge of broadcast systems, RF transmission, studio operations, automation, audio chains, remote control systems, and digital distribution workflows
- Hands-on experience supporting IP-connected infrastructure, including switches, routers, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, NTP, SNMP, and wireless systems
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals, patching, endpoint protection, backup and recovery, and secure system configuration
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to support station facilities, transmitter sites, and remote locations as needed
- Ability to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call support when critical systems require immediate response
