About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Maintains, troubleshoots, optimizes, and supports broadcast, studio, RF transmission, automation, audio processing and routing, remote control, generator, UPS, satellite, and digital distribution systems to ensure reliable day-to-day operations
Supports IP-based broadcast infrastructure, including switching, routing, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, wireless systems, AoIP platforms, and monitoring tools
Responds quickly to outages, equipment failures, off-air events, and other critical technical issues across studios, transmitter sites, translator locations, and remote broadcasts, including after-hours and on-call support as needed
Plans and executes upgrades, preventative maintenance, lifecycle replacements, infrastructure improvements, and modernization projects

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience in broadcast engineering, radio technical operations, media technology, IT infrastructure, or a related technical field
Strong knowledge of broadcast systems, RF transmission, studio operations, automation, audio chains, remote control systems, and digital distribution workflows
Hands-on experience supporting IP-connected infrastructure, including switches, routers, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, NTP, SNMP, and wireless systems
Working knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals, patching, endpoint protection, backup and recovery, and secure system configuration
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to support station facilities, transmitter sites, and remote locations as needed
Ability to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call support when critical systems require immediate response
