About the role

  • Prospect for new business and solicit new clients through prospecting and cold calling
  • Consistently manage target accounts and pipeline; generate revenue from new and existing accounts
  • Create proposals and compelling presentations for clients and sales leaders
  • Consult clients on CMG audio and digital solutions; demonstrate product capabilities, measurement, attribution, and KPIs
  • Sell fully integrated advertising solutions utilizing radio and digital products
  • Meet and exceed sales goals as outlined by General Sales Manager/Director of Sales
  • Conduct need analyses and account reviews to uncover client needs; develop marketing plans
  • Negotiate advertising rates and match station sponsorships to client needs
  • Work with internal departments for account stewardship, traffic instructions, make-goods, and collections
  • Utilize CRM (HubSpot) to track activity, build pipeline, provide weekly projections and revenue reporting
  • Upsell current customers with performance metrics, research insights, and results
  • Attend sales meetings, training sessions, and client remote meetings

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of new business development and prospecting experience in media sales or related sales role
  • Proven record of driving revenue growth through successful campaigns
  • Proven track record of success in working with people (career, school, organizations, sports, etc.)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, people skills, and business acumen
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a high pressured, fast paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Strong marketing, presentation and closing skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Able to effectively negotiate with customers to meet a winning return on investment
  • Experience prospecting for new clients and selling services, and maintaining and upselling existing clients
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and CRM tools, such as HubSpot
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Preferred: BA/BS degree
  • Preferred: Three years of media sales, account management or buying experience
  • Preferred: Proven history of digital and radio sales success in a local media setting
