About the role

  • Monitor on-air programming for quality, timing, and compliance with FCC regulations.
  • Operate broadcast console and studio equipment during live and pre-recorded shows.
  • Oversee all training and scheduling of Board Ops.
  • Coordinate with talent, producers, and traffic teams to ensure smooth transitions and accurate commercial placement.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues in real time and escalate as needed.
  • Record, edit, and load audio content for playback using automation systems.
  • Maintain logs and documentation for regulatory and internal compliance.
  • Support remote broadcasts and live events as needed.
  • Monitors listener emails, inquiries and responses related to shows.
  • Assist the management team with planning of future projects, elections, and other special events.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years' experience in news operations (Depending on market size)
  • Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Flexibility to work any shift.
  • Must have at least some previous news producing experience at a radio station, although the right entry-level candidate may be considered
  • 2-3 years of experience as a producer/board-op in a top 25 market.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Flexibility and on-the-spot problem solving abilities are a must.
  • Proficient with Adobe Audition, WideOrbit, etc.
  • Ability to work in emergency situations at a moments notice including weekends and overnights.
  • Monitor live streams both audio and video.
  • Edit audio for holiday best of programming.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
