About the role
- Research, write and update news stories for Charlotte’s only Spanish-language local newscast
- Create relevant, important and memorable newscasts
- Develop graphics for production by Design Department
- Write Opens, Stories, and Teases
- Work closely with Managing Editor daily on rundown decisions and live opportunities
- Work closely with news team to create compelling news segments, and maintain high production standards
- Work in the Control Room during broadcast to oversee presentation and changes in format
Requirements
- Bilingual, with excellent Spanish-writing skills
- Strong writing skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration
- Must stay abreast on current affairs, and have a wide-range working knowledge of general interest subjects
- Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Journalism or Communications preferred
- Previous experience in local TV news
