About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the Accounting Product Management group and oversee the work of the Accounting Product Team
- Partner with engineering, UX, and program management across the release train
- Own end-to-end strategy and execution for DMS+ Accounting, including GL, AP, AR, period close, Journal Workbench, deal posting, and adjacent payroll workflows
- Translate dealer accounting pain points into prioritized, data-informed product requirements
- Establish product specifications and coordinate delivery with engineering, architecture, UX, and program management
- Apply and evolve the Cox Data framework for accounting data integrity and downstream reporting
- Oversee research into dealer accounting requirements and incorporate findings into roadmap decisions
- Monitor the competitive DMS landscape and identify build-vs-buy/partner opportunities
- Define and lead the AI strategy for the Accounting product discipline
- Identify and evaluate AI/ML and agentic capabilities for dealer accounting workflows
- Establish team standards for AI-assisted discovery, requirements synthesis, delivery, and quality practices
- Partner with architecture, data, and engineering leadership on reliable, governed AI-enabled accounting features
- Represent the Accounting AI roadmap in executive strategy reviews
- Provide visibility into product activities, risks, issues, budgets, costs, and priorities
- Develop executive-ready business cases, roadmaps, and strategy decks
- Support go-to-market planning and messaging for new accounting capabilities
- Ensure capabilities meet quality standards within approved cost and timeline
- Lead role and operating-model changes and refine team policies and working agreements
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of product management experience
- 2+ years in a people-leadership role managing product managers or product owners
- Demonstrated ownership of a product line end-to-end, including strategy, roadmap, delivery, and business outcomes
- Ideally experience in a B2B SaaS or platform environment
- Experience with core accounting or financial workflows, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, period close, and reconciliation
- Strong track record translating ambiguous cross-functional strategy into an executable roadmap
- Ability to communicate roadmaps to senior and executive audiences
- Experience leading or participating in legacy-to-modern platform migrations, including strangler-fig, parallel-run/dual-fire, or phased cutover approaches
- Skilled at building consensus across engineering, architecture, UX, and program management in a matrixed organization
- Preferred: experience in automotive retail, dealership operations, or DMS products
- Preferred: familiarity with product planning tooling for roadmap and delivery tracking
- Preferred: experience standing up or evolving a product operating model
- Preferred: prior experience presenting to C-suite audiences on technical modernization strategy and business impact
- Must clear a pre-employment drug test
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship
