About the role
- Process requisitions through to PO, ensuring accurate supplier selection, coding, and policy compliance.
- Manage PO changes, renewals, approvals, and invoice queries, whilst maintaining accurate procurement and supplier data in D365.
- Drive use of preferred suppliers and approved spend channels - manage contract renewals, validate requirements and pricing, and negotiate straightforward agreements.
- Support Category Managers with supplier performance, issue escalation, research, pricing analysis, and due‑diligence activity.
- Run low‑ to medium‑complexity RFQs/RFPs and support more complex sourcing with market insight and commercial analysis.
- Conduct commercial and supply‑chain risk assessments, coordinate due‑diligence checks, and ensure audit‑ready compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.
- Act as the first point of contact for procurement queries, building strong stakeholder relationships and guiding teams on processes and timelines.
- Proactively identify upcoming renewals and emerging procurement needs.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by refining processes, workflows, and templates, and spotting opportunities to boost efficiency, compliance, and stakeholder experience.
Requirements
- Experience in Buying, Operational Procurement, or Supply Chain roles, ideally within a regulated or financial services environment.
- Strong understanding & knowledge of Procurement and contract management principles.
- Confident user of procurement or ERP systems such as Microsoft D365.
- Highly organised with ability to to prioritise effectively, manage a varied workload, and work to tight deadlines.
- Strong negotiation skills for low‑complexity purchases and renewals.
- Experience supporting category managers with commercial and sourcing activity.
- Understanding of procurement compliance frameworks (e.g. due diligence, financial thresholds, audit requirements).
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills - comfortable challenging the status quo to make operational improvements, driven by a customer-service driven mindset.
- Analytical thinker with good commercial judgment and proactive problem-solving approach.
- High levels of attention to detail, integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Ideally obtained or working towards CIPS Level 3–4.
