About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own all aspects of LMS administration including user management, roles and permissions, integrations, and platform settings
- Manage system upgrades, releases, and patches in coordination with vendors
- Monitor system performance, uptime, and data integrity; proactively resolve issues
- Maintain clear documentation of system configurations and processes
- Manage third-party integrations and single sign-on (SSO) connections
- Serve as the escalation point for complex LMS-related issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to enrollment, grading, access, and integrations
- Collaborate with vendors to resolve bugs and system issues
- Maintain a knowledge base of solutions and FAQs
- Partner with instructional and learning teams on course design and platform capabilities
- Support development of scalable course templates and structures
- Configure and launch courses, programs, and learning pathways
- Translate instructional requirements into LMS functionality
- Recommend tools and features to enhance the learner and instructor experience
- Deliver training for faculty, staff, and administrators on LMS best practices
- Create user guides and documentation for different audiences
- Promote platform adoption and increase awareness of LMS capabilities
- Generate and analyze LMS reports and learning analytics
- Maintain accurate enrollment records and support compliance reporting
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of LMS administration or similar ed-tech platform experience
- Hands-on experience with a major LMS (Canvas strongly preferred)
- Strong understanding of LMS architecture (courses, roles, permissions, integrations)
- Experience supporting technical systems in a structured IT environment
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
