About the role

  • Lead regulatory approvals for new and unrelated programs, coordinating state, accreditor, and internal authorization processes to ensure timely, accurate approvals and alignment with institutional strategy.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, and institutional integrations by conducting regulatory due diligence, advising on approval pathways, and tracking required filings and post-approval obligations.
  • Establish and manage regulatory relationships with assigned state agencies, serving as the primary institutional point of contact and coordinating communications, submissions, and follow-up activities.
  • Oversee the campus excellence program and enterprise compliance scorecards, ensuring consistent monitoring, reporting, and visibility into compliance performance, trends, and risk indicators.
  • Own and maintain enterprise Compliance Policies and Procedures (P&Ps), including drafting, reviewing, updating, and coordinating approvals to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and operational practices.
  • Maintain regulatory calendars and tracking logs to ensure all filings, renewals, and required submissions are completed accurately and on time across jurisdictions.
  • Develop and maintain scalable compliance templates, checklists, toolkits, and playbooks that support standardization, efficiency, and consistent execution across campuses and departments.
  • Maintain the Master Self-Evaluation Report (mSER) and other enterprise regulatory inventories, ensuring documentation is current, accurate, and readily available for audits, reviews, and internal monitoring.
  • Design and lead the enterprise compliance training program for corporate and campus leadership, including curriculum development, delivery, and ongoing updates to reflect regulatory changes.
  • Design and manage the internal compliance audit system, including audit planning, execution, documentation review, findings tracking, corrective action monitoring, and remediation follow-up.
  • Maintain the corporate Institutional Accreditation and Institutional Approval (cIAIA) framework, overseeing governance processes, documentation, and quarterly updates to support regulatory oversight.
  • Serve as the primary institutional contact for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) coordination and reporting, ensuring accurate submissions and ongoing compliance with reciprocity requirements.
  • Oversee school catalog updates and revisions, ensuring content reflects approved programs, policies, and requirements and remains aligned with state, accreditor, and institutional standards.
  • Work collaboratively with technology and compliance partners to review, update, and deploy enrollment agreements in alignment with current regulatory and institutional requirements.
  • Conduct and coordinate policy and procedure reviews to ensure alignment with regulatory standards, operational practices, and institutional risk management objectives.
  • Supervises the compliance auditors and specialists.
  • Provides training and support to compliance business partners and campus leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 7+ years of experience in postsecondary compliance, regulatory affairs, accreditation, or related operational roles
  • Demonstrated experience managing state authorization and accreditor (ACCSC) approvals
  • Experience working collaboratively across departments in a multi-campus or highly regulated environment
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze issues, identify root causes, and translate operational needs into clear, actionable requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and organizational levels.
