About the role
- Deliver direct client counseling services to families, couples, and children (patients, their parents, and/or their siblings).
- Utilize therapeutic approaches that draw from a variety of disciplines and are tailored to the needs of the client. This may include Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Solution Focused Collaborative Therapy, and others.
- Attend to relational ethics, while collaborating with others in the interdisciplinary team and the families we serve. Actively engage other team members to ensure wrap-around support for the family and sharing of information and ideas.
- Participate in family care meetings with other providers.
- Comply with clinic policies and all state, federal, and licensing board laws/requirements/regulations by fostering practices that adhere to the standards of care and ethical guidelines, including confidentiality and mandated reporting.
- Adhere to – and support other team members’ adherence to – organizational standards and policies.
- Maintain documentation and communication in line with legal, ethical, and company standards.
- Team members must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient information.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or doctorate in psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related field
- Current and unrestricted license and/or certification to practice within your clinical domain and obtain cross-state licensure as indicated by the current business needs
- Well-grounded in a variety of empirically supported psychotherapy treatment approaches including, but not limited to, cognitive and behavioral, postmodern/post-structural, social-constructionism, and narrative therapy
- Open-minded desire to learn from other professional disciplines and knowledge bases as well as local knowledge of colleagues and families we serve
- 1 year or more of experience working with children or families with developmental differences
- You hold a current and unrestricted license and/or certification that is required to practice within your clinical domain and obtain cross-state licensure in new states as indicated by the current business needs
