About the role
- Act as a seller/doer, leveraging existing relationships and cultivating new ones with municipal and private clients in the solid waste industry.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, track leads, and develop winning proposals in collaboration with the Solid Waste Group Leader based in our Irvine, CA office.
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to enhance visibility and drive growth.
- Serve as the technical lead on proposals, project execution, and quality assurance of deliverables.
- Provide strategic oversight and mentorship to junior staff and project teams.
- Lead multidisciplinary projects involving: Civil design, Geotechnical and hydrogeologic investigations, Construction management and construction quality assurance (CM/CQA), Regulatory compliance and permitting for municipal and hazardous waste landfills.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Hydrogeology
- California PE or Certified Hydrogeologist (CHG) required; GE license preferred for geotechnical candidates
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in solid waste engineering
- Proven track record in technical delivery, business development, and team leadership
- Strong network of contacts in the solid waste and landfill sectors across the western U.S.
