Support project managers on construction review and material testing projects, including assisting in preparation of cost estimates and proposals
Perform daily coordination with internal staff, clients, and construction personnel
Review, understand, and interpret project plans and specifications, shop drawings, product data sheets, RFIs, and change orders
Perform scheduled tests, observations, and inspections in accordance with applicable test procedures and project requirements
Perform quality control review, field observation, testing, and sampling of construction materials, including soils, concrete, masonry, pavement, and steel construction
Perform Certified Construction Review (CCR) services related to routine review of erosion and sediment controls, and during construction of stormwater management facilities
Perform Resident Project Representative review and oversight of contractors on municipal and civil engineering and construction projects
Complete field documentation and reports in a timely manner, including JSA forms, project field reports, field notes, datasheets, soil boring logs, chain-of-custody forms, and other illustrations
Operate various types of field equipment (GPS, data loggers, survey level, combustible gas meters, nuclear density gauge, etc.)
Collect data through independent research and file review
Perform basic computations and process data using computer software or other established methods
Safely operate and maintain company vehicles
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited institution in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
0 to 4 years of experience with construction observation, reporting, and consultation
Certifications for testing and field review (preferred), including American Concrete Institute (ACI), International Code Council (ICC), American Portage Nuclear Gauge Association (APNGA), and OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER
Passing of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam (preferred)
Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 80 lbs. occasionally with or without accommodation
Strong communication skills
The ability to interpret work plans
Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License
