About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure effective document intake: review documents for validity and analyze immigration status based on documents provided
- Be accountable for drafting and reviewing immigration forms and letters based on analysis of case details, documents, and individual qualifications, as per strict deadlines for a range of NIV, PERM and IV applications (end to end)
- Applying strong attention to detail, ensure immigration petitions are prepared efficiently and accurately
- Flag any potential/foreseeable case-related issues with Attorney in a timely manner
- Draft responses to requests for evidence as guided
- Utilize online immigration case tracking system to monitor case status and activities on a daily basis
- Coordinate with Client Support Specialists for printing, scanning, and posting of cases and service requests
- Respond to client communication requests – either via client contact or directly with the foreign national
- Prioritize daily workload based on fluctuating client deadlines, whilst maintaining an appropriate sense of urgency
- Flag any ideas for process improvements and modifications to appropriate Attorney/Case Manager
- Assist other team members with case or document preparation, as required
- Contribute to positive team morale, even within a remote work environment.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completed Bachelor’s Degree – highly desirable
- At least 1 year of experience working as an Immigration Paralegal drafting employment-based petitions
- Intermediate level proficiency with MS Suite (Teams, Outlook, Word)
- Experience with drafting petitions for H1B, L, TN, O-1, and/or experience with drafting green card processes (I-140 and AOS), and end-to-end PERM applications preferred
- Experience working with a high volume of active and inactive cases at any one time
- Experience communicating directly with (HR staff) and/or foreign nationals regarding case requirements, including work on key accounts/clients
- You have genuine interest in US immigration, with a desire to treat clients & foreign nationals with respect and an empathetic approach
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, including spelling and grammar
- Sharp eye for attention to detail to ensure consistent accuracy of work
- Ability to follow due process, templates, and to adapt to evolving innovation within the Firm, and industry.
- Ability to collaborate with others as part of a team.
- You have excellent organizational skills and are able to meet deadlines.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritize caseload.
- A genuine interest in U.S. immigration, with a desire to treat clients & foreign nationals with respect and an empathetic approach.
