About the role
- Serve as primary Attorney to attend employment-based green card interviews on behalf of clients
- Assist with review and filing of immigrant and nonimmigrant case work
- Attend I-485 interviews for employment-based petitions, mostly EB-3
- Prepare and file cases including H-1B, I-140, I-485, and client-relevant NIV/IV
- Liaise with other attorneys or departments on projects
- Assist with maintenance of casework quality and consistency on assigned teams
- Evaluate cases and assist in providing case strategies and/or solutions to issues
- Provide coverage for attorneys on vacation and leave of absence
- Work closely with and mentor paralegals; may provide supervision of other employees
- Perform reporting/auditing duties
- Supplement and maintain knowledge of law and policy changes
- Perform legal research and prepare legal memoranda and/or legal briefs
- Analyze facts, patterns, and complex legal issues to provide sound legal advice
- Prepare immigration-based filings for complex case management
- Gain rapport and foster strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and external partners
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree
- Admittance to the State Bar
- 2+ years of related experience
- Required to travel throughout the U.S.
- Experience with the PERM process, I-140 immigrant petitions, and I-485 applications to adjust status
- Experience with H-1B matters
- Experience with O-1 and EB-1A/B matters is a plus
- Experience employment-based NIV and IV immigration cases, including PERM, I-140, AOS, H-1B, L-1, TN, and O-1 visa matters
- Track record of consistently meeting SLEs (Service Level Expectations)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools is a plus
- Fluency of the English language in both written and verbal forms; Bilingual a plus, but not required
