About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support sales activity under Sales Manager.
- Communicate with customers and vendors getting orders, answering questions, responding to complaints, resolving problems, issuing quotes, etc.
- Communicate with other staff proceeding with the above activity.
- Enters data into the operation system as needed.
- Complete various reports related to sales, shipping, and raw materials.
- Check customers' EDI (Electronic Data Interchanges) files and take proper action from them.
- Ensure that Hayakawa backlog matches customers' open purchase orders.
- Coordinate month-end activities for the above departments.
- Review sales orders and invoices for accuracy.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure good communication to meet customer expectations.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Two years of college or associate's degree; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, correspondence, agreements, instructions, sales orders, freight documents, etc.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively to customers, vendors, or employees of the organization in Japanese and English.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages.
- Must have computer skills.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office without difficulty.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
