Accounting Manager, Japanese Bilingual

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee daily accounting operations including AP/AR, general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Prepare and review financial statements and management reports
- Ensure compliance with U.S. accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and corporate headquarters in Japan
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting
- Lead and mentor accounting staff while improving operational processes and internal controls
- Support business planning and financial analysis for management decision-making
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and travel business teams
- Other duties may be assigned as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, preferred
- 7+ years of Finance & Accounting experience, preferred
- 5+ years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role, preferred
- Business-level bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese (spoken and written)
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience working in an international or Japanese company environment is preferred
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
