About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide neat, accurate, easy-to-follow designs that meet code requirements, manufacturing restraints and system deadlines
- Manage moderately complex projects, ensuring designs meet structural code requirements, manufacturing standards, and customer expectations
- Generate design packages, review drawings and material lists
- Adhere to project schedules, effectively managing shifting priorities and last-minute revisions
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional team members to identify, escalate, and resolve design challenges
- Coordinate with drafting, estimating, and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and efficiency
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related field)
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in metal building design or structural engineering
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is strongly recommended; active pursuit of Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is preferred, not mandatory
- Proficient in structural design and modeling software preferred (e.g., RISA, STAAD, AutoCAD, or equivalent)
