About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and expand assigned accounts while identifying and converting new business opportunities
- Prospect, qualify, and close sales to meet and exceed territory quotas
- Serve as a trusted partner to customers, providing both pre- and post-sales support
- Generate leads, build pipeline, and execute strategic sales plans to grow market share
- Analyze market segments and customer needs to identify growth opportunities within existing accounts
- Utilize structured call planning and territory management to stay organized and effective
- Deliver customized sales presentations and participate in trade shows, promotions, and customer training events
- Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends, and market dynamics to inform strategy
- Work cross-functionally to ensure seamless execution and customer satisfaction
- Address customer concerns proactively and develop solutions that strengthen long-term relationships
- Provide accurate sales forecasts, weekly updates, and maintain detailed account records
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3+ years of direct sales experience, ideally within the building products industry
- Strong understanding of dealer, distribution, and/or two-step sales channels (depending on brand)
- Proven ability to negotiate, problem-solve, and close deals effectively
- Familiarity with competitive products and market dynamics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with sales planning, budgeting, and T&E expense management
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
- Self-motivated with a drive to achieve and exceed goals
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
