About the role
- Design and draft electrical engineering projects under the guidance of Electrical Engineers/Project Managers
- Produce electrical engineering construction documents for power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems
- Coordinate and assist with multi-disciplined teams including Site/Civil, Mechanical, Structural Engineers, Architects and Construction Project Managers
- Design full site plans and resolve complex design issues with limited direction
- Conduct site feasibility research and site visit investigations and generate reports and recommendations
- Coordinate with sub-consultants
- Assist in maintaining task budgets and coordinating addendums, RFIs, and change orders
- Assist managers with the project approval process and organize and maintain project files
- Maintain documentation for billable hours
- Demonstrate an understanding of basis of design and codes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
- E.I.T. preferred
- 0-2 years of experience with electrical design for buildings, preferably with commercial projects such as, fueling, retail or restaurants
- AutoCAD
- Revit
- MS Office
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to coordinate with Site/Civil Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Structural Engineers, Architects and Construction Project Managers
- Understanding of basis of design
- Understanding of codes
