About the role

  • Design and manage architectural projects from conception to completion for retail and commercial markets
  • Coordinate with MEP, Site/Civil and Structural Engineers, and Construction Project Managers
  • Produce and manage architectural construction documents while adhering to client requirements, code requirements and site adjustments
  • Execute design strategy for stores and provide clear, effective and timely communication of design direction and changes to internal designers and consultants
  • Identify exceptions, propose and implement design solutions; contribute to market team goals by achieving target deliverables and deadlines
  • Design within store budgets and regional/market requirements; develop schematic drawings and finish palettes
  • Manage production of construction documents by internal and external designers and consultants; ensure integrity and quality inclusive of design intent, detailing, code requirements, scheduling and MEPs
  • Review and analyze project documentation; set schedules and communicate dates to project team
  • Conduct site visits and participate in schematic reviews with cross-functional teams
  • Mentor junior designers and work with a team of planners, engineers and architects

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture preferred
  • Registered Architect in good standing required, NCARB preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working on all phases of architectural design, production and delivery and management
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Word, Excel and Revit; 3D rendering knowledge is a plus
  • Site Planning experience and strong design skills
  • Experience in a variety of projects (i.e. retail, commercial, industrial, multi-family, and mixed-use)
  • Experience in field observation, building materials, specifications, construction techniques with building codes, and zoning
  • Strong presentation, oral and written communication skills
