About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee completion of multiple projects and assignments from inception through completion
Plan, monitor, and review project progress, work accuracy, and results
Review project requirements and quotes to ensure materials and costs are accurately represented
Ensure understanding and approval of contractual agreements and fulfillment of Core & Main obligations
Anticipate, identify, communicate, and resolve operational problems and minimize delays
Ensure timely delivery of correct materials and supplies
Coordinate collaboration with internal support teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders
Provide regular project status information to stakeholders and interface with upper management
Review plans and schedules for master-schedule compliance and resolve scheduling and inter-functional conflicts
Participate in or lead weekly or monthly meetings
Track and report open-job/project status and identify deviations or adverse trends
Interact with existing customers to increase sales and profitably grow as-bid margins
Support new accounts, retain existing accounts, and increase opportunities with existing customers in Critical Infrastructure markets

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 18 years of age
Must pass pre-employment assessment(s), if applicable
Typically requires a BS/BA in a related discipline and generally 2–5 years of experience in a related field, or an MS/MA and generally 2–4 years of experience in a related field
Certification is required in some areas
5 years of prior experience specific to bid preparation, sales, or construction
Critical Infrastructure experience
Strong computer skills
Extensive product knowledge of waterworks materials
Experience in a relationship- and service-oriented role in manufacturing, distribution, or construction management
Formal project management training and/or PMI Certification highly preferred
Knowledge of order entry, inventory management, and supply-chain logistics processes and systems
DBIA and/or PMP certification is a plus
