About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee completion of multiple projects and assignments from inception through completion
  • Plan, monitor, and review project progress, work accuracy, and results
  • Review project requirements and quotes to ensure materials and costs are accurately represented
  • Ensure understanding and approval of contractual agreements and fulfillment of Core & Main obligations
  • Anticipate, identify, communicate, and resolve operational problems and minimize delays
  • Ensure timely delivery of correct materials and supplies
  • Coordinate collaboration with internal support teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Provide regular project status information to stakeholders and interface with upper management
  • Review plans and schedules for master-schedule compliance and resolve scheduling and inter-functional conflicts
  • Participate in or lead weekly or monthly meetings
  • Track and report open-job/project status and identify deviations or adverse trends
  • Interact with existing customers to increase sales and profitably grow as-bid margins
  • Support new accounts, retain existing accounts, and increase opportunities with existing customers in Critical Infrastructure markets

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Must pass pre-employment assessment(s), if applicable
  • Typically requires a BS/BA in a related discipline and generally 2–5 years of experience in a related field, or an MS/MA and generally 2–4 years of experience in a related field
  • Certification is required in some areas
  • 5 years of prior experience specific to bid preparation, sales, or construction
  • Critical Infrastructure experience
  • Strong computer skills
  • Extensive product knowledge of waterworks materials
  • Experience in a relationship- and service-oriented role in manufacturing, distribution, or construction management
  • Formal project management training and/or PMI Certification highly preferred
  • Knowledge of order entry, inventory management, and supply-chain logistics processes and systems
  • DBIA and/or PMP certification is a plus
