About the role
- Provide comprehensive consulting to clients and internal teams, advising on legal requirements at the federal, state and municipal levels to ensure compliance and avoid penalties.
- Develop and lead tax recovery projects, tax classifications and detailed accounting analyses.
- Review product tax classifications to ensure correct legal application and tax optimization.
- Provide support during tax audits, handling notices, gathering documentation and preparing defenses to mitigate or eliminate undue tax penalties.
- Participate in strategic client meetings to align obligations, configure systems and discuss efficient solutions.
- Perform digital audits (labor, tax and accounting) to identify errors and opportunities for improvement or recovery.
- Prepare high-complexity technical reports and opinions (including income statement (DRE), balance sheet, cash flow, EBITDA, liquidity and ROI), providing strategic insights for client decision-making.
- Stay continuously updated on legislation, preparing bulletins, summaries and technical opinions for clients and colleagues.
- Deliver periodic technical training to the Tax, Accounting and Payroll teams to support ongoing technical development and ensure consistency of procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (completed)
- Strong knowledge of Tax Legislation (federal, state and municipal)
- Proven experience in tax recovery
- Experience in tax classification analysis
- Proficiency with ancillary tax filings and declarations (federal, state and municipal)
- Knowledge of tax planning
