About the role

  • Assist in onboarding datasets to the enterprise data catalog and maintaining metadata accuracy.
  • Support business users in discovering and understanding data through data catalog tools (e.g., Alation, Purview, Collibra).
  • Help document business definitions, data owners, and usage guidelines.
  • Participate in data literacy and enablement programs by creating documentation and job aids.
  • Support data classification, tagging, and access governance activities.
  • Help monitor data quality rules and report issues or anomalies.
  • Work with data stewards and data owners to maintain governance standards.
  • Assist in documenting data policies and compliance guidelines.
  • Write basic scripts or SQL queries to support data profiling and metadata extraction.
  • Support integration of metadata and governance tags into data pipelines.
  • Help build dashboards and reports to track data enablement KPIs.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in data management, data governance, or related fields.
  • Basic understanding of data catalog, data quality, or metadata management concepts.
  • Familiarity with SQL and scripting languages such as Python.
  • Exposure to data tools like Power BI, Snowflake, Azure Data Services, or similar.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to work cross-functionally.
  • Experience with any data catalog or governance tool (Alation, Collibra, Informatica, Purview, etc.) (Nice-to-Have).
  • Knowledge of data privacy, data classification, or compliance frameworks (Nice-to-Have).
  • Understanding of ETL pipelines, data warehousing, or business intelligence processes (Nice-to-Have).
