Key responsibilities & impact

Design and co-develop the Oracle Database@AWS and Exadata target platform
Analyze, design and implement complex database, platform and migration requirements
Plan and support migrations of existing Oracle databases to the new target platform
Ensure a stable and standardized Oracle operation on ExaCC, Oracle Database@AWS and related platforms
Design and implement backup, restore and disaster recovery solutions
Monitor and continuously optimize availability, performance and stability of the database platform
Implement and continuously improve security and compliance requirements
Implement hardening measures, Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), and role and permission/access control concepts
Implement relevant security standards and CIS Benchmarks
Automate recurring operational and platform processes and continuously evolve the cloud and database environment

Requirements

What you’ll need

Several years of experience in engineering and operating complex Oracle database environments
Solid knowledge of Oracle Database and experience with Exadata or Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC)
Experience with cloud platforms and ideally Oracle Database@AWS
Strong skills in designing and executing complex database migrations
In-depth knowledge of backup, restore, disaster recovery, monitoring and performance optimization
Experience implementing advanced security and compliance requirements
Knowledge of database hardening, Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), and role and permission models
Experience with CIS Benchmarks and securing business-critical database platforms
Knowledge of automation and DevOps-oriented operating models is an advantage
Analytical and structured working style and high personal responsibility in complex technical environments
Fluent German language skills, both written and spoken
