About the role
- Develop user manuals, quick-start guides, and installation instructions for hardware devices
- Create service manuals and maintenance procedures for technicians
- Write safety and compliance documentation for regulatory approval
- Interpret engineering drawings and convert them into clear instructions
- Collaborate with engineers to document product features, assembly steps, and troubleshooting procedures
- Update documentation to reflect design changes and product revisions
- Produce labeled diagrams and illustrations to support written instructions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1–3+ years of experience in technical writing or documentation development
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner
- Experience with documentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or similar)
- Basic understanding of software development concepts and workflows
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Experience creating documentation for hardware products such as electronics, devices, or machinery (Preferred)
- Familiarity with CAD drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation (Preferred)
- Knowledge of regulatory and safety standards (e.g., ISO, CE marking, UL standards) (Preferred)
- Experience with illustration or diagram tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Visio) (Preferred)
- Familiarity with content management systems or documentation platforms (Preferred)
- Experience working in manufacturing or product development environments (Preferred)
- Understanding of product lifecycle processes (Preferred)
