About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute event, client hospitality, and sponsorship strategies aligned with market nuances and practice group priorities
  • Partner with Marketing & Client Development and market leaders to design programs driving client engagement and cross-selling
  • Lead planning and delivery of firm-hosted, market-based events
  • Evaluate regional sponsorship opportunities and provide data-backed recommendations
  • Apply firm-wide governance processes to manage event and sponsorship requests
  • Support high-touch hospitality planning for priority clients and firm milestones
  • Monitor and report regional performance metrics, engagement data, and business-pipeline contribution
  • Coordinate post-event follow-up to convert engagement into business opportunities
  • Manage local vendors, venues, and creative agencies
  • Support assigned-market budgets, tracking, variance reporting, and cost efficiency
  • Supervise and guide in-market support teams
  • Serve as direct supervisor and mentor to direct reports
  • Manage staffing coverage, time logs, and time-off requests
  • Support professional development and continued educational opportunities
  • Participate in hiring, performance appraisals, counseling, termination, and other employee lifecycle events
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • After orientation at Cooley LLP, proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications
  • Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required
  • Ability to travel, as required
  • 5+ years applicable experience in marketing or business development, preferably with an emphasis in strategy, transformation, or growth
  • Professional services industry experience and/or B2B marketing experience
  • Experience working with local business organizations for brand and relationship opportunities
  • Experience with TicketManager and CRM
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Prior legal industry or professional services experience preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail and quality consistency

  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple activities under tight timelines
