About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Translate practice-specific marketing plans into detailed briefs for the Campaign Strategy team
- Engineer customer journeys to deliver business-unit outcomes
- Consult with the Insights team on buyer profiles and influencers
- Direct strategy for practice-building initiatives
- Ensure “Always Ready” materials and sales touchpoints reflect market trends and buyer behavior
- Partner with Marketing & Client Development leaders on enterprise roadmaps and channel strategies
- Define triggers and content requirements for practice-level personalization
- Oversee the business-unit-specific marketing budget
- Provide strategic recommendations on sponsorship and practice-level spend ROI
- Lead strategy and narrative development for complex, high-stakes pitches and proposals
- Collaborate with Client Development and Pursuits & Proposals teams
- Interpret dashboard data with Insights & Optimization
- Recommend strategic shifts in the marketing plan
- Supervise and mentor direct reports
- Provide day-to-day supervision and monitor compliance with work hours and firm and department policies
- Manage staffing coverage and process time logs and time-off requests
- Support professional development and continuing education
- Participate in hiring, performance appraisals, counseling, termination and other employee lifecycle events
- Perform other duties as assigned or required
Requirements
What you’ll need- After orientation at Cooley LLP, proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications
- Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required
- Ability to travel, as required
- 8+ years of applicable experience in marketing or business development
- 4+ years of management experience, with some at the senior level preferred
- Prior professional services industry experience and/or B2B marketing experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- Prior legal industry experience preferred
