About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as part of the Business Unit Marketing Team and act as a strategic consultant and bridge between practice group leadership and Marketing & Client Development
- Translate commercial objectives and competitive insight into marketing and client development plans
- Manage intake and prioritization of practice-level marketing and sales enablement needs through the “Front Door” for MCD requests
- Prepare and customize standard pitches and capability statements while ensuring quality and brand consistency
- Partner with Strategy & Enablement teams to implement business-unit-specific assets and campaign updates
- Manage Chambers and legal directory rankings submissions, including timelines, data collection and internal review
- Direct boutique, practice-led client events and liaise with Events for larger activations
- Manage and refresh practice-specific content, partner bios and practice descriptions
- Coordinate market research on buyer behavior and marketplace trends for annual planning
- Lead marketing orientation and onboarding for lateral attorneys
- Supervise and mentor direct reports
- Provide day-to-day supervision, manage staffing coverage, and review time logs and time-off requests
- Support business professional development and continued educational opportunities
- Participate in hiring, performance appraisals, counseling, termination and other employee lifecycle events with the supervisor and central HR
- Perform other duties as assigned or required
Requirements
What you’ll need- After orientation at Cooley LLP, proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications
- Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required
- Ability to travel, as required
- 5+ years applicable experience in marketing or business development
- Prior professional services industry experience and/or B2B marketing experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Prior legal industry experience preferred
- Excellent attention to detail
