About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyze and process all conflict requests, including more complex requests
  • Prepare database search terms and create conflicts reports for related parties
  • Perform corporate research to confirm the identity of all parties associated with requests
  • Identify existing and potential conflicts by reviewing conflicts reports
  • Understand and interpret database results for firm partners, counsel, and attorneys
  • Interact regularly with partners to discuss potential issues
  • Maintain conflicts resolution notes for each request
  • Draft conflict waivers and engagement letters as necessary
  • Provide conflicts training for secretaries, paralegals, attorneys and business professionals

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years progressive experience in a law firm, legal environment, or conflicts department, with 3+ years in conflicts or legal intake
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, iManage, and other firm applications after orientation
  • Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills for tasks
  • Understand database results and conflicts reports
  • Knowledge of American Bar Association’s Model Rules of Professional Conduct
  • Legal and corporate research skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree or JD preferred
  • Paralegal Certificate preferred or completion of an ethics course in a paralegal program
