About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Managing sea freight shipments from order creation through to final delivery.
- Providing customers with proactive updates and full visibility of their shipments.
- Responding to customer enquiries promptly and professionally through verbal and written communication.
- Monitoring shipment progress and identifying potential disruptions before they impact customers.
- Coordinating with shipping lines, overseas offices, customs authorities, and transportation providers to ensure smooth cargo movement.
- Managing exceptions and resolving operational issues in a timely and customer-focused manner.
- Ensuring accurate system data entry and maintenance of shipment records.
- Opening and maintaining shipment files in accordance with company procedures and service standards.
- Coordinating customs brokerage requirements and ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Managing and maintaining In-Transit Reports and shipment tracking information.
- Supporting accurate and timely invoicing and cost control processes.
- Working to established service levels, KPIs, SOPs, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborating with internal departments to deliver the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence within the team.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous experience in a customer service, administration, or logistics environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high levels of customer service.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Experience in Sea Freight Imports and/or Exports.
- Previous experience within freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain operations.
- Knowledge of customs processes and international transportation.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and resolve operational issues.
