About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Technical and operational leadership of the short-haul/local distribution team
CoDi pick-up operations including management and further development of staff
Responsibility for dispatching the short-haul fleet (piece goods & carrier vehicles) and management of external contractors
Ensuring efficient and seamless processes across the entire short-haul/local transport area
Strategic and operational collaboration and negotiation with regular transport contractors
Central point of contact for internal departments and interface management within the freight forwarding/transport organization
Responsible for procurement of special-purpose vehicles, including price negotiations and cost optimization
Monitoring service quality, especially for premium services (on-time performance, delivery)
Ensuring correct and timely preparation of billing
Active involvement in and management of seasonal and capacity planning
Responsible for onboarding new customers, including process setup and optimization
Analysis of KPIs and derivation and implementation of optimization measures

Requirements

What you’ll need

Completed training as a forwarding and logistics services clerk (Kaufmann für Spedition und Logistikdienstleistung) or comparable qualification
Several years of professional experience in dispatch/short-haul operations, ideally with initial leadership experience or readiness for the next career step toward team leadership
Solid experience working with subcontractors
Strong leadership, communication and assertiveness skills
High level of organizational ability, sense of responsibility and entrepreneurial thinking
Confident user of MS Office and ideally experience with dispatch/planning systems
Very good written and spoken German skills
