About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Engage a culture of safety throughout our campus by educating leaders to enhance safety.
  • Provide management support in planning, development, delivering, and evaluation of safety policies, programs, and training.
  • Promote safety for all employees and compliance with legal regulations and department policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal and State OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Provide training, instruction, and guidance in safety areas.
  • Oversee accident investigations and maintain all record keeping.
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory requirements and ensure compliance.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One to two years related experience and/or training directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Prior experience in safety observations/inspections, developing and implementing compliance strategies and plans.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other federal safety standards, principles, practices and techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other business areas.
  • Working knowledge of computerized applications (word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation software, email).
  • Willing to work different shifts as dictated by business needs.
  • Professional accreditation in a safety or environmental field is preferred.
  • Experience effectively leading and facilitating team and cross-functional meetings is preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
