About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the importation of goods by ocean, including customs clearance and delivery to the final destination
- Manage the exportation of goods by ocean, including carrier booking and managing the movement of goods through various transportation channels
- Coordinate with carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Prepare, process, submit required documentation for customs clearance, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and other relevant paperwork
- Track and monitor shipments and provide regular updates to customers on the status of their shipments
- Manage relationships with customers, ensuring their satisfaction and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise
- Collaborate with other internal departments, such as logistics, finance, and operations, to ensure timely and efficient service delivery
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, including customs regulations and trade laws
Requirements
What you’ll need- Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field is preferred
- Experience in ocean import and export is highly desirable
- Fluency in English is required
- Knowledge of additional languages is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with logistics software and systems is preferred
