About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

The Manager, Safety leads operations in areas of injury prevention, task assessment, safety communications, hazardous materials storage and transportation compliance, and regulatory compliance.
Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company commitments, policies, and compliance requirements.
Conducts pre-operational risk assessments on new sites, designs, proposes, and implements risk mitigation measures within the region.
Provides training and coaching to local Health & Safety Managers to ensure technical competence and leadership development across the region.
Manages organization safety policies, programs, and procedures for assigned region ensuring compliance with federal, state and local Health, Safety & Environmental regulations.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a medium to large warehouse in a HSE management capacity supervising 5 or more associates.
Bachelor’s Degree, in related field (Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene) preferred.
Prior experience in safety observations/inspections, developing and implementing compliance strategies and plans.
Knowledge and understanding of current Environmental / Sustainability Topics (i.e. Environmental Regulations, Green Energy Technologies, Greenhouse Gases, Waste and Recycling, Energy / Water Conservation, etc.)
Strong computer skills are required. Proficient use of MS Office Applications.
Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or similar certification preferred.
English (reading, writing, and verbal) Bilingual (Preferred).
