About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • The Manager, Safety leads operations in areas of injury prevention, task assessment, safety communications, hazardous materials storage and transportation compliance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company commitments, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Conducts pre-operational risk assessments on new sites, designs, proposes, and implements risk mitigation measures within the region.
  • Provides training and coaching to local Health & Safety Managers to ensure technical competence and leadership development across the region.
  • Manages organization safety policies, programs, and procedures for assigned region ensuring compliance with federal, state and local Health, Safety & Environmental regulations.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a medium to large warehouse in a HSE management capacity supervising 5 or more associates.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, in related field (Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene) preferred.
  • Prior experience in safety observations/inspections, developing and implementing compliance strategies and plans.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current Environmental / Sustainability Topics (i.e. Environmental Regulations, Green Energy Technologies, Greenhouse Gases, Waste and Recycling, Energy / Water Conservation, etc.)
  • Strong computer skills are required. Proficient use of MS Office Applications.
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or similar certification preferred.
  • English (reading, writing, and verbal) Bilingual (Preferred).
