Operational Key Account Manager, APAC

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive and manage the quality, KPI result and service delivery of assigned Key Accounts.
- Drive process standardization and optimization to improve performance and minimize customer specific processes.
- Drive continuous improvement and optimization initiatives.
- Retention of assigned key accounts.
- Support all aspects of the account relationship as a primary point of contact for customer.
- Proactively work within the Commercial organisation to constantly assess changes to the business and impact to DSV’s growth and profitability in the current volatile and uncertain market.
- Help identify all potential risks and develop mitigation plan.
- Identify and implement Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Maintain and grow margins (preparation of rates, oversee operating costs).
- Work closely with Operations to deliver high level of service to customers.
- Effectively manage any issues that arise.
- Develop relevant internal and external metrics to measure performance.
- Proactively manage and monitor customer KPI’s through data quality processes.
- Become a part of an account focused cross-functional team that proactively participates in the account planning, sales support & delivery process.
- Work closely with regional commercial owner to support account development and business growth.
- Support spot quotes and tender success through effective engagement with customer, product, operations and tender desk.
- New business implementation for assigned accounts.
- Build strong connection with customers’ key stakeholders in the region.
- Support and help manage cross-functional teams through influence and persuasion.
- Collaborate closely with regional and country colleagues to coordinate account activities.
- Provide proper guidance to operations and account management teams in country.
- Assist in the resolution of difficult issues through effective negotiation tactics.
- Support communication strategy within account teams.
- Maintain high degree of motivation in team members to retain focus of providing highest levels of customer satisfaction.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Freight Forwarding, Logistics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of operational experience within a global freight forwarding or logistics company.
- Strong exposure to key account management, regional operations, and customer-facing roles is preferred.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and use initiative with minimal supervision.
- Strong time management and multitasking skills, able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven project management capabilities for cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong business acumen, including financial analysis, problem-solving, and sound judgment in complex scenarios.
- Ability to identify operational, commercial, or customer-related issues and recommend practical solutions.
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to review, refine, and optimize processes.
- Ability to identify synergies and integration opportunities across regions and functions.
