About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Responsible for the daily scheduling of warehouse personnel to ensure proper staffing in order to select and receive products at the facility in a productive and cost-efficient manner
Directs the day-to-day activities of the warehouse. Such activities include shipping, receiving, sanitation, maintenance, inventory control, etc.
Adheres to budget requirements and works toward obtaining objectives and branch goals
Responsible for maintenance of warehouse equipment, providing both preventive maintenance programs and all necessary repairs
Ensures that the warehouse personnel have safe, efficient equipment in order to perform the distribution functions
Responsible for warehouse safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees and within the regulations of all OSHA local and state regulations.
Recommends equipment requirements and replacements in order to upgrade and maintain warehouse productivity and efficiency
Responsible for recruitment, hiring, training, performance management, and discipline of direct reports
Timely reporting and compliance with deadlines
Researches, identifies, and presents new ideas to improve warehouse operations
Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and company safety policies.

Requirements

What you’ll need

2-3 years of experience in transportation and logistics management
High School Diploma required
Must have forklift experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Thorough knowledge and understanding of warehouse environment
Advanced competency in all aspects of business administration
People management and leadership experience (Recruitment, Selection, Training & Development, Coaching, and Performance Management)
Strategic Planning Skills
Strong Organizational Skills (prioritize, plan, assign, and control)
Ability to work well in a diverse environment and culture
Ability to develop networks and relationships
Work well in a time-sensitive, fast-paced environment under pressure.
