About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for the daily scheduling of warehouse personnel to ensure proper staffing in order to select and receive products at the facility in a productive and cost-efficient manner
- Directs the day-to-day activities of the warehouse. Such activities include shipping, receiving, sanitation, maintenance, inventory control, etc.
- Adheres to budget requirements and works toward obtaining objectives and branch goals
- Responsible for maintenance of warehouse equipment, providing both preventive maintenance programs and all necessary repairs
- Ensures that the warehouse personnel have safe, efficient equipment in order to perform the distribution functions
- Responsible for warehouse safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees and within the regulations of all OSHA local and state regulations.
- Recommends equipment requirements and replacements in order to upgrade and maintain warehouse productivity and efficiency
- Responsible for recruitment, hiring, training, performance management, and discipline of direct reports
- Timely reporting and compliance with deadlines
- Researches, identifies, and presents new ideas to improve warehouse operations
- Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and company safety policies.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2-3 years of experience in transportation and logistics management
- High School Diploma required
- Must have forklift experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of warehouse environment
- Advanced competency in all aspects of business administration
- People management and leadership experience (Recruitment, Selection, Training & Development, Coaching, and Performance Management)
- Strategic Planning Skills
- Strong Organizational Skills (prioritize, plan, assign, and control)
- Ability to work well in a diverse environment and culture
- Ability to develop networks and relationships
- Work well in a time-sensitive, fast-paced environment under pressure.
